The quartet was founded in 2008. Although the artists come from different musical backgrounds the tenor of the
quartet is tango with its strong feelings, desire and its deep melancholy. Tango as a world feeling, as a mood
that even without dancing to it can also be very enriching.
The four musicians use "new tango", that has already become historical, as a panorama of their common language
of music and compositions. Their individual roots - jazz, world music, classical music - are their vehicle and
they find inspirations in Creole groove and in Mediterranean cultures.
The band always approaches the listener from different sides. On the one hand it enthrals him/her with pleasing
melodies and warm harmonies and on the other hand it heats the listener up with groovy improvisations or
transfers him/her into dream worlds with spherical sounds.
In its programme Jasstango works with esprit and melancholy, fire and ice crystal, philosophical wisdom and
spontaneous exchanges, urban scurrility and popular affection.
That is how the combo marches through different cultures of many countries and in its concerts it leaves
behind multicultural impressions of the finesse and simplicity that are typical for chamber and street music.
